Event
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix combines immense straight-line speed with one of Formula 1’s narrowest and most unforgiving street-circuit sections. The Baku City Circuit passes the city’s waterfront, modern skyline, and medieval walls before sending drivers onto a full-throttle run of more than two kilometers.
The narrow castle section requires complete precision, while the enormous approach to Turn 1 creates powerful slipstreaming and late-braking opportunities. Baku has developed a reputation for unpredictable races shaped by close walls, Safety Cars, restarts, and late changes in fortune. Its unconventional Thursday-to-Saturday format adds another distinction to a Grand Prix that rarely follows a predictable script.
