Bathurst 12 Hour
About The
Event
The Bathurst 12 Hour is defined by Mount Panorama, a public-road circuit that climbs steeply from the valley floor into a narrow, concrete-lined mountain section before plunging through Skyline, the Esses and the Dipper. The race begins before sunrise, creating an unforgettable transition from darkness to daylight as the field crosses the mountain. Long straights, dramatic elevation changes and little margin for error make every lap compelling. Expanded to four days for 2027, the event combines one of endurance racing’s most spectacular settings with a full weekend built around Australia’s premier international GT race.

Arrive in Bathurst
Arrive before the opening day to settle in and become familiar with Mount Panorama. The circuit is constructed from public roads, making its elevation and proximity to the barriers especially striking when seen in person.
Opening Day and Track to Town
Begin with the newly expanded Thursday program, expected to include additional on-track activity and testing. Experience the event’s Track to Town celebration, where the race moves beyond the circuit and into central Bathurst for a closer look at the competing cars and teams.
Practice at Mount Panorama
Watch the field build speed during the principal practice sessions. This is an excellent opportunity to experience the circuit from different viewing areas, from the approach to Hell Corner and Mountain Straight to the elevated sections across the top of the mountain.
Qualifying and the Shootout
Saturday centers on the battle for starting position. Follow qualifying as the field is narrowed, then watch the fastest contenders take on Mount Panorama individually in the Top 10 Shootout, one of the event’s most intense and celebrated sessions.
