Event
The inaugural Texas 8 Hour introduces a new international endurance race at Circuit of the Americas. The event brings GT World Challenge America and the Intercontinental GT Challenge together on COTA’s 20-turn Grand Prix circuit, creating a significant new fixture for global GT racing.
The circuit rises steeply toward Turn 1 before moving through high-speed direction changes, a long back straight, heavy-braking zones, and a technical final sector. The race begins around midday and continues into darkness, allowing the character of the circuit to change as temperatures fall and headlights illuminate the track. As the first running of the Texas 8 Hour, the 2027 event offers the opportunity to witness the beginning of a new endurance-racing tradition.

Practice, Qualifying, and the Fight for Pole
Enter Circuit of the Americas as the international GT3 field prepares for its first Texas 8 Hour. Follow practice and multi-driver qualifying before the fastest teams compete for the honor of starting the inaugural race from pole position.
The Inaugural Texas 8 Hour
Arrive early for the support races, pre-race activities, and available grid experience. Watch the first Texas 8 Hour begin in daylight and continue through eight hours of competition. As evening arrives, headlights take over and the field races toward the first checkered flag in the event’s history.
Support Racing and Closing Events
Return for the remaining SRO America support races and fan activities. Enjoy a final day of GT, touring-car, and single-make competition following Saturday’s headline event.
